Harris mill lofts is the newest offering in the brady sullivan portfolio of mill communities. Built in 1850, the mill was the second of two textile mills developed by elisha harris, a former governor of rhode island. The mill was built on land that he purchased in the early 1820s along the north branch of the pawtuxet river in coventry, rhode island. Under harris' ownership, the mill manufactured plain and twilled cotton cloth. The historic mill building later transferred ownership in 1900 to interlaken mills, inc., one of the nation's largest suppliers of cloth used by the publishing industry. The mill remained in operation producing book cloth for interlaken mills until it was closed in 1953. Under brady sullivan properties' ownership, harris mill in coventry has been reborn into unique luxury loft apartments for rent. The renovated mill apartments feature exposed brick and beams, original reclaimed wood flooring, soaring ceilings, bright oversized windows, granite kitchen counters, stainless steel appliances, in-unit washers and dryers, as well as central heating and air conditioning. Select lofts for rent have been appointed with gas fireplaces for the ultimate in mill loft-style living. The apartment rentals at harris mill lofts is just a short bike ride to the greenway bike path. Rents range from $1,050 to $2,550 per month. More details: harris mill.
